The Challenge

‍A leading television production company, required a complex relocation of their office to their hedquarters within Islington (N1). The project involved dismatmnling and moving 63 staff workstations, monitora keyboards, multiple sensitive editing suites, multiple filing and storage walls, boardroom, production offices, kitchen contents and a storage room.

Key constraints included:

• Strict Deadlines: The move had to ensure zero interruption to ongoing post-production schedules.
• Fragile Inventory: Transporting high-value AV monitors, server equipment, sensitive hard disks, and fragile boardroom awards (medals).
• Logistical Hurdles: Dismantling fixed shelving, removing a wall-affixed reception signage, and managing a "shuttle" service between sites, narrow streets, off street parking

Our Solution

‍We assigned a dedicated Move Manager to execute a detailed 4-day phased relocation plan:

• Preparation & Crate Hire: We supplied over 300 specialist crates, including IT-2 computer crates for screens and LC3 crates for files. A detailed floor map was created to tag every desk and monitor for exact placement at the new site.
• Days 1-2 (Pack & Prep): A 6-man crew packed all libraries, edit suites, and common areas. Specialised packing was used for the boardroom medals and the 4 network printers.
• Days 3-4 (The Move): We utilised 3 XL MaxiMover vans running continuous shuttle trips. The team dismantled 63 desks and fixed shelving units.
• Storage Management: Surplus furniture, including the front desk and dismantled workstations, was securely cataloged and transported to our closest storage facility in NW10.

The Results

‍The move was completed on schedule with all 8 editing suites and 63 workstations fully reassembled and ready for use. By utilising a "shuttle" logistics model within Islington, we minimized downtime, allowing the media team to resume production immediately.
