The Challenge
A prominent Hedge Fund required a complete relocation of their headquarters from Savile Row to Old Burlington Street. Despite the short distance, the move presented significant logistical and technical challenges:
- High-Density Trading Floor: Relocating 32 active trading desks equipped with 99 monitors (triple-screen setups) and associated hardware, requiring zero downtime.
- Specialist Heavy Lifting: The reception featured a 7 cubic meter solid stone surround, requiring specialist heavy-handling equipment and a structural movement plan.
- High-Value Assets: Packing and protecting fine art paintings, 25 fragile glass awards, and a full executive gym suite.
- Restricted Access: Navigating Mayfair’s one-way systems and loading restrictions with heavy goods vehicles.
Our Solution
We deployed a dedicated Move Manager to oversee a comprehensive 3-day execution plan:
- IT & Trading Floor: We utilized specialized IT crates to pack and protect all 99 monitors and 32 PCs. The server room cabinets were transported using heavy-duty skates following a client-led decommissioning process.
- Fine Art & Fragile Packing: Our team built bespoke wooden crates for the large paintings and used acid-free tissue and flow-wrap for the 25 glass awards and boardroom memorabilia.
- The "Stone" Move: We brought in a specialist heavy-lifting crew to dismantle and safely transport the 7m3 stone reception desk, utilizing floor protection throughout the new premises to prevent damage.
- Gym & Furniture: The full gym suite was dismantled and reassembled, alongside the complex 18-seat boardroom tables.
The Results
The entire relocation was completed over a single weekend. The trading floor was fully operational by 7:00 AM Monday and client experienced zero business interruption.
