ILTMIMI Environmental Policy

It is our policy to minimise our impact on the environment wherever practicably possible by ensuring that environmental issues and awareness remain at the forefront of every decision we make.

Our Key Environmental Principles:

1. Minimize Waste & Maximizing Reuse

• We offer a free collection service of used boxes and where possible we reuse the boxes.

• If the boxes cannot be re-used, then we recycle them.

• Where we are required to dispose of customer’s goods, we choose to only use waste transfer stations that recycle

• Where customers have requested recycling of furniture & goods, we actively seek to re-use (health & safety permitting) by offering to charities we work with, staff or restoring for resale.

2. Purchase Wisely

• When purchasing new vehicles, the vehicles impact on the environment is of key importance to us.

• We are actively moving our fleet to euro 6 compliant vehicles

• By ordering large quantities of required materials and storing them at our depots we are able to reduce the amount of deliveries we receive and therefore help our suppliers reduce their impact on the environment.

• Where possible we choose likeminded suppliers that also maintain good environmental practices

• Where possible we only purchase packaging materials made from recycled materials

3. Plan Wisely

• When planning routes, we aim to maximise efficiency and therefore minimise the impact on the environment.

• We take into account likely congestion and different times of the day when deciding on a route.

• Wherever possible we plan ahead to deliver or collect boxes when we have vehicles in the area to avoid empty loads

• We ensure that all company vehicles are well maintained by way of daily, weekly, inspections & regulars servicing. Preventative maintenance helps to minimise our environmental impact

4. Use Technology

• Reduce printing in the office and we are moving towards paperless jobsheets & signoffs

• Promote the use of video surveys instead of home surveys which require travel by vehicle or public transport

• We use GPS tracking on all vehicles to monitor routes, driver performance (speeding & braking), and vehicle fuel efficiency (mpg
